Beijing, 20 September 2021 (TDI): According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Xi Jinping, the Chinese President will attend the 76th session of the General Assembly virtually. On Tuesday, September 21 he will deliver his speech on the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA76) via video.
United Nations General Assembly 76th session commenced on 14 September 2021 and General Debates of high-level will start from 21 September 2021, on Tuesday. The period of these General Debates at the chief organ of the United Nations in policy making will be from 21 September, Tuesday to 27 September, Monday.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only a few delegations will be attending the session in person. While the rest of the UN member states were allowed to participate through pre-recorded statements instead of paying a visit to the UN Headquarters. Over 100 Member States are expected to attend the session physically.
