Chinese Premier Visits Saudi Arabia to Strengthen Ties

ISLAMABAD, September 11,2024 (TDI): On Wednesday, the Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang expressed the hope that China and Saudi Arabi will further strengthen their development strategies and elevate their bilateral relationship.

Li arrived in Saudi Arabia for presiding the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Chinese-Saudi Joint Committee and meet with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

Li’s visit is part of a broader effort to elevate the strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia.

Chinese President Visit

In his remarks, Premier Li emphasized the long-standing friendship between the two nations, noting that their relationship has significantly advanced since diplomatic ties were established 34 years ago.

He highlighted the progress achieved through mutual efforts, leading to fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation.

He also said that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Saudi Arabia in December 2022, during which he attended the inaugural China-Arab States Summit and the first China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)

Summit. Since then, both nations have worked actively to implement the key outcomes of these summits, strengthening political trust and expanding cooperation across various domains.

During his visit, Premier Li is expected to engage in detailed discussions with Saudi leaders on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing shared concerns.

He aims to deepen mutual cooperation, bolster the friendship between the two peoples, and drive further progress in China-GCC and China-Arab relations.
