Islamabad, 26 August 2024 (TDI): Commander of the People’s Liberation Army Ground Forces General Li Qiaoming called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Muni at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday, the military’s media affairs wing said.
During the meeting, the two dignitaries discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and military training, and further deliberated upon ways to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Asim Munir highlighted the strong relations between the Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army.

The army chief also stated that the ongoing bilateral military cooperation was “a testament to the enduring brotherhood between the two nations.”
Speaking at the occasion, General Li hailed the Pakistan Army’s rigorous efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism while recognizing its professionalism and dedication.
Gen Asim thanked his Chinese counterpart and highlighted that Pakistan valued the fraternal ties between the two countries.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the GHQ, General Li Qiaoming was presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army. The visiting dignitary also paid respects at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada by laying a wreath.
