Beijing, 24 July 2021 (TDI): In a regular press conference on Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian shares the names of the principal Chinese official to hold talks with Wendy Sherman, the Deputy Secretary of State of the US, during her expected visit to China on July 24 and 25.
Lijian shared that Deputy Minister Xie Feng, who is in charge of China-US relations at China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be the principal official to hold talks with Deputy Secretary Sherman.
He said the US side repeatedly expressed the hope of meeting with Chinese leaders.
Following customary practice, China considers the arrangement of a meeting between State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Deputy Secretary Sherman after her talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Xie Feng.
