Islamabad (TDI): The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan Friday held an awarding ceremony on Friday in recognition of outstanding Pakistani staffers associated with the Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
The ceremony was held in Islamabad where 43 Pakistani staff members were recognized for their invaluable contributions towards CPEC CPEC construction.
The event was attended by Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of NDRC of China, Chen Shuai, and Executive Vice Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan, Zhou Bo.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Zaidong stressed that Pakistan and China should examine reality, trends, and prospects and strengthen mutual confidence in practical cooperation.
“First, there are great opportunities for growth between our two countries,” the ambassador said, adding that the ongoing economic recovery in both nations had opened up new possibilities and added momentum to practical cooperation, particularly in advancing CPEC.
Second, we have a strong strategic direction. Guidance and agreements from our leaders have provided clear direction and boosted our confidence in pursuing high-quality development of CPEC,” Mr Zaidong noted.
“Third, our cooperation has a solid foundation. The successes achieved so far, especially in CPEC, have created a strong base and valuable support for building an enhanced version of CPEC,” he added.

Mr Zaidong further stressed that the Chinese side was ready to work with Pakistan on completing the CPEC.
This cooperation will extend in the field of development, security, quantitative growth, and the construction of “small but beautiful” livelihood projects, he said.
The ambassador noted that together, the two countries can “write a new chapter of pragmatic cooperation, building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.”
