Islamabad (TD): A group of schoolgirls and teachers from Pakistan’s Balochistan province visited the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad on July 7.
They met with Minister Counsellor Yang Guangyuan to acknowledge the achievement of a recent Chinese government-sponsored health program for girls.
The program, commonly referred to as “SHE POWER,” is designed to enhance hygiene and health awareness among girls residing in underprivileged areas.Â
Under the program, 50,000 health kits were provided to schools for girls in Balochistan, and educational activities were organized to enhance awareness of an individual’s health and hygiene practices.

The visiting delegation praised the initiative, calling it a significant step forward for girls’ education and well-being. Their meeting with Chinese officials showed the importance of interpersonal relationships between the two countries, especially in fields like education, health, and women’s empowerment.
The Chinese Embassy once again emphasized that programs like “SHE POWER” are a part of China’s comprehensive development support to Pakistan.Â
Balochistan, being the largest and underdeveloped province of Pakistan, due to its location and long-standing challenges, has long been a focus for this kind of support efforts.

China and Pakistan have had close relationships and collaboration on projects in areas of infrastructure, education, health, and development for decades.
One of the largest joint ventures between Pakistan and China is the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has opened up new possibilities, particularly in the Balochistan province.
China has also supported initiatives such as increased access to health, education, and women’s empowerment in different regions of Balochistan.
China’s presence in the region is evident through initiatives such as community development programs, mobile health teams, and vocational training of girls.
