Washington, 15 November 2021 (TDI): Chinese Ambassador to the United States Qin Gang has warned the U.S. to not use Taiwan for containing China.
He said that any efforts by the U.S. to use Taiwan for containing China will be disastrous for itself. The Chinese Ambassador made these remarks on Saturday, 13 November 2021, at the 2021 annual meeting of the Alliance for China’s Peaceful Reunification. The virtual meeting took place in San Francisco.

Qin Gang also highlighted the role of Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in provoking independence. He said that DPP has allied with external forces for making Taiwan an independent state. He stressed that such attempts harmed the core interests of China.
Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. said that the world should be committed to the One-China policy. China will defend integrated Taiwan straits at any cost, he added. He said that China will take all necessary measures to protect the One-China policy.
US should stay committed to One-China policy
The Chinese Ambassador urged the United States to stay committed to the One-China policy. He stressed that the United States should avoid any confrontations. It should not use Taiwan for its geopolitical aims to jeopardize the peace and stability of the region.
Qin stated that the Taiwan issue is the most sensitive issue in China-U.S. relations. Therefore, the United States should abandon its contacts and military activities with Taiwan. He emphasized that the U.S. should not allow the Taiwan issue to harm the bilateral relations of the U.S. and China.
