Rawalpindi, 30 July 2022 (TDI): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The meeting was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi on Friday.

The Chinese Ambassador and COAS discussed the topics of common interest. In addition to this, two held detailed discussions related to defense cooperation. Moreover, the advancement of CPEC and the region’s overall security were also part of the discussion.
Discussion in the Meeting
On this occasion, General Bajwa acknowledged and endorsed the role of China in regional and global issues. COAS also expressed the desire to further strengthen the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan.
Furthermore, the COAS reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan to work together. He, along with this, vowed to collaborate with foreign partners for the peace and stability of the region.
The Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong endorsed the special efforts of Pakistan to provide security to Chinese employees working in Pakistan. Also, the Ambassador thanked COAS for providing a secure environment for Chinese personnel.
In addition, the Ambassador lauded the role and efforts of Pakistan for the peace and security of the region. Also, Ambassador Nong vowed to play a part in enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. Moreover, he assured to put efforts into improving the cooperation between Pakistan and China at all diplomatic levels.
Also, the Ambassador of China met the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on 28 July. The Chinese delegation also accompanied him. Prime Minister showed his satisfaction with the growing bilateral and diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
Ambassador Nong Rong also held meetings with the Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto and the Finance Minister of Pakistan Miftah Ismail on 27 July.
