Beijing, 3 September 2021(TDI): Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Wang Wenbin reassured another batch of nearly 30 million doses to be shipped soon to developing countries including Algeria, Niger, Venezuela, Kyrgyzstan, and Côte D’Ivoire.
Earlier this year the first batch of 9 million doses of Sinovac and Sinopharm had already been delivered to Pakistan and Bangladesh.
In a press conference on Thursday, Wang told the press that two vaccine types have been added to the COVAX portfolio and the relevant companies will provide 110 million doses by the end of October to be distributed to the countries according to the demand.
The FM spokesperson also confirmed that Xi Jinping continues to endorse the idea of striving to provide maximum doses of vaccines to developing countries with equitable access. He also called on other developed countries to help support developing nations stuck amidst the pandemic.
