China’s Cultural Show Held in New Zealand

Wellington (TDI): Artists from Guangdong Province exhibited the rich traditions of Lingnan culture at the National Museum of New Zealand.

The vibrant cultural event, attended by over 200 people, was organized by a coalition of cultural and governmental organizations.

The organizations include the China International Cultural Association and the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand.

The program aimed to promote cultural exchange and understanding between China and New Zealand.

It featured performances by five inheritors of Guangdong’s intangible cultural heritage.

During the event unique elements such as the Lingnan school of Guqin art, Chaozhou Kung Fu tea art, Canton Porcelain, and the art of Dongguan agarwood incense.

Attendees were treated to a variety of performances, including traditional Chinese folk music and dance.

Local resident Barbara remarked that this was the largest Chinese cultural event in Wellington since the onset of COVID-19.

She described the show as “amazing” and noted how the segments on Chinese tea culture broadened her appreciation as a tea lover.

The event not only celebrated the beauty of Lingnan culture but also deepened connections between the two nations.
