China witnesses 110 mln trips in summer vacation

BEIJING, 03 Sept 2024 (TDI):  In July and August Chinese border ports witnessed 110 million inbound and outbound trips, about 1.78 million per day, according to the country’s National Immigration Administration (NIA) and media reports.

As the available data reveals August 24 witnessed a peak day for inbound and outbound travelers, almost 2.24 million, accounting for 97.2 percent of the historical peak.

The foreigner made a total of 10.89 million trips, and a 52.8 percent increase was noted as compare to the last year. Moreover, visa-free inbound trips by foreign visitors (excluding residents of border regions) increased by about 1.96 million, up 117 percent compared to the same period last year.

As various media reports said the surge in visitors is due to China’s mutual visa exemption agreements with other countries, the 144-hour visa-free transit policy and other policies, which has attracted visitors for summer vacations to the country.

Being a land of ancient civilizations and rich and culture and history, China is attracting visitors for long. But several factors are reportedly contributing to the recent surge in numbers of travelers in China.

The rapid economic growth, development, educational institutions and technological advancement and several other factors has contributed to mobilization to China. Even inside the country people are now frequently travelling parts of the country.

A report suggests that the Chinese millennials, the reasons for travel are, awesomely, related to leisure and recreational activities and business (91%), but a large number of Chinese also prefer to visit friends and relatives (17%), go on a cruise (15%), or seek overseas education (7%), beauty treatment (6%), or medicine (5%).
