Beijing (TDI): China looks forward to working with Pakistan through the upcoming visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar to further follow up on the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said.
Addressing a regular press briefing, Lin said the visit would help enhance strategic communication and coordination, deepen exchanges and cooperation across various sectors, carry out a series of commemorative activities, and accelerate efforts to build an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
In response to a question regarding the visit, the spokesperson noted that 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, and the forthcoming visit will kick-start anniversary-related commemorative events.
Lin described China and Pakistan as ironclad friends and all-weather strategic cooperative partners. He said the two countries have maintained close high-level exchanges over the years, built strong political mutual trust, expanded practical cooperation, and sustained a positive momentum in the development of bilateral relations.

At the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Dar will visit China from January 3 to 5 and co-chair the Seventh Round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue.
The upcoming strategic dialogue is expected to provide both sides with an opportunity to review progress on key bilateral initiatives and explore new avenues for cooperation amid evolving regional and global dynamics.
Observers note that regular high-level engagements between Beijing and Islamabad play a crucial role in maintaining policy alignment and reinforcing long-term strategic collaboration between the two countries.
