China wants to solve Syrian Chemical Weapon issue

New York, 4 September 2021 (TDI): China’s deputy permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Geng Shuang called for resolving the pending issue of the Syrian Chemical Weapon.
Geng Shuang stressed the vitality of this issue and called for effective steps to be taken.
He further noted that China encourages the Technical Secretariat of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to speed up and solidify parleys with Syria on this predicament.
China’s Representative told the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) that no one should exert political pressure on Syria and their admissible concerns must be addressed.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the previous meetings China had stressed science-based investigation of this issue.
