Beijing, 13 August 2022 (TDI): President of China, Xi Jinping called on the international community to gather consensus on promoting development.
President Xi made the remarks in a congratulatory letter on Friday to the International Civil Society Solidarity Conference on the Global Development Initiative.
He envisioned creating an enabling environment and fostering new driving forces for global development to jointly work for a global development partnership.

Remarks over the souring economy of the world
Chinese President also pointed out that the global economy is currently affected by multiple factors. Moreover, the implementation process of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has been impeded.
In the face of difficulties and challenges, the Chinese president further urged all sides to pull together with firm confidence to fight issues of 21 st century.
The world needs to combat COVID-19, promote development with concerted efforts, and earnestly implement the 2030 Agenda. This will also help people of all countries live a better life and human society embrace a brighter future.
He further said that international civil societies must help consolidate. They must enhance popular support for ensuring the implementation of the Global Development Initiative.
He added that China is willing to work with all parties to accelerate the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In addition to that, China is ready to make greater contributions to jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind. The country envisions creating a new era of prosperity and development.
The Global Development Initiative
President Xi Jinping in September 2021, proposed the agenda of the Global Development Initiative.
He called on the international community to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He also mentioned that it will promote more robust, greener, and more balanced global development.
This major Initiative significantly sets out a blueprint for the development of countries and international development cooperation. It points the way forward for global development and international development cooperation.
