Zhongshan, (TDI): The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force announced on Wednesday that several newly developed warplanes will make their first public appearance at the upcoming 15th Airshow China, scheduled to take place from November 12 to 17 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.
The airshow, one of the world’s most prominent aviation expos, is expected to showcase the latest advancements in Chinese military aviation, with experts anticipating the debut of next-generation fighter jets and domestically-produced aero engines.
Speaking at a press conference, Lieutenant General Yu Qingjiang, vice commander of the PLA Air Force, confirmed that the new aircraft would participate in flight performances, highlighting their capabilities in long-range strategic delivery and air combat.
In addition to the flight displays, a range of advanced military equipment will be featured in static exhibits, demonstrating the PLA’s prowess in air combat, unmanned warfare, strategic delivery, and air defense.
“This airshow will highlight the PLA Air Force’s ability to defend China’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” General Yu said.
“It also sends a positive message of safeguarding peace, encouraging openness for cooperation, and fostering equal communication.”

Military aviation expert Fu Qianshao, commenting on the forthcoming event, noted that while enthusiasts had hoped to see the much-anticipated debut of the H-20 stealth bomber, it is not yet ready for display.
However, Fu speculated that attendees may witness the introduction of a medium-sized stealth fighter jet based on the FC-31 platform, along with new unmanned stealth drones, special operations aircraft, and modified versions of existing aircraft, such as the Y-20, which now features indigenous engines.
PLA Navy Tests New Aircraft
Further heightening anticipation, a documentary in mid-September revealed that the PLA Navy had recently tested a new aircraft aboard the Liaoning, the country’s first aircraft carrier.
Media reports suggest this new plane could be the J-35, a next-generation carrier-based stealth fighter jet, also developed from the FC-31.
