Beijing (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit in Beijing on Tuesday, reaffirming China’s support for Arab countries in strengthening strategic autonomy and pursuing development paths aligned with their national interests.

Wang emphasized that China respects the sovereignty of all nations and does not interfere in other countries’ internal affairs or engage in geopolitical rivalry. “Our goal in China–Arab cooperation is shared development and shared prosperity, advancing modernization for all nations,” he said.

He also highlighted that next year will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the Arab states, with the second China-Arab States Summit scheduled to take place in China, which he called “a milestone event” in bilateral relations.

The Chinese foreign minister further expressed appreciation for the Arab League’s commitment to a just resolution of the Palestinian issue. China will continue to advocate fairness on the international stage, support the restoration of Palestinian rights, and promote the realization of the two-state solution, Wang said.
