Bandar Seri Begawan, 13 September 2021 (TDI): Brunei received 100,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese government, which arrived at Brunei International Airport at midnight on Sunday.
This is the second shipment of Sinopharm vaccines from China to Brunei. Beijing helped distribute 52,000 doses of vaccine used in the country’s initial vaccination delivery in February. According to Yu Hong, the Chinese ambassador to Brunei, China has provided more than one billion doses of Chinese vaccines to more than 100 countries and international organizations, the most in the world.
Throughout the pandemic, China and Brunei have strengthened their bilateral ties.The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN tweeted about the donation of vaccines to Brunei:
