Beijing (TDI): Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun met with his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov in Beijing on Monday, as both sides vowed to strengthen military cooperation between their nations.
Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Russia, Dong praised the long-standing friendship between the two countries, noting that their bilateral relations are at an all-time high under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin.
Dong emphasized that the close military cooperation and high level of mutual trust serve as a model for major-country relations.
He urged both militaries to deepen strategic coordination, enhance cooperation, and safeguard the shared interests of China and Russia while maintaining global strategic stability.

Belousov, for his part, highlighted the importance of China-Russia military ties in preserving global and regional peace.
He affirmed Russia’s readiness to implement the consensus reached by the two countries’ leaders and to continue enhancing military collaboration to address security challenges.

Earlier this month, President Xi Jinping reaffirmed his commitment to expanding comprehensive cooperation with Russia, in a message sent to President Putin on the occasion of their diplomatic anniversary.
