China Delivers Relief Aid for Pakistan’s Flood Victims

Rawalpindi (TDI): Two relief flights from China arrived at Nur Khan Air Base on Sunday, carrying 300 tents and 9,000 blankets for families displaced by the recent floods.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the fresh consignment is part of Beijing’s continued support to Pakistan, providing timely monsoon relief assistance for flood-hit communities, particularly in Punjab.

A reception ceremony was held at the air base, attended by Federal Minister Amir Muqam as chief guest, along with NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NDMA.

In his remarks, Minister Muqam expressed gratitude to the government and people of China, noting that the aid would provide critical relief to thousands of families.

He said Pakistan, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and with NDMA at the helm, was mobilizing all resources to accelerate relief and recovery operations.

He added that China’s gesture was not only a humanitarian contribution but also a reaffirmation of the “everlasting Pakistan–China friendship, higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the ocean, and stronger than steel.”

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment, in partnership with NDMA and with support from friendly nations, to overcome the challenges posed by the floods and to ensure the rehabilitation of affected communities.
