Beijing, 8 September 2021 (TDI): The spokesperson of Foreign Minister of China Wang Wenbin told the press conference on Tuesday that China’s nuclear strategy is based on self-defense, hence the theory of China’s nuclear threat is a myth.
Wang further explained that China has always focused on arms control and has never been involved in an arms race. Therefore, the nuclear force of China has remained at a possible low level for the purpose of national security.
According to Wang, China’s strategy of ‘no first use’ (NFU), serves as a confidence-building measure, which lowers nuclear risks. So, the nukes of China are not jeopardizing Non-Nuclear Weapon States (NNWS) or Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones (NWFZ).
