China Reiterates Support for Palestine

Beijing (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, emphasizing China’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause and calling for urgent steps toward peace in the Middle East.

In a message to a United Nations meeting held on Tuesday, President Xi underscored the need for the swift and effective implementation of UN Security Council resolutions to end the ongoing war and de-escalate tensions in the region, Xinhua reported.

“The core resolution lies in implementing the two-state solution,” Xi stated, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He stressed the importance of safeguarding the Palestinian people’s rights to statehood, existence, and return.

Xi reiterated China’s role as a steadfast supporter of Palestinian sovereignty and its commitment to fostering unity among Palestinian factions.

He highlighted the Beijing Declaration on Palestinian National Unity as a key step toward reconciliation and solidarity.

The Chinese president reaffirmed China’s backing for Palestine’s bid to become a full member of the United Nations and called for a broader, more effective international peace conference to address the Palestinian issue.

China, Xi said, will continue to collaborate with the international community to end the violence, support humanitarian efforts in Gaza through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, and return the Palestinian issue to the path of the two-state solution for a lasting and just resolution.

Beijing’s renewed call for global action comes as the Middle East faces heightened tensions, underscoring the urgency of resolving one of the region’s most enduring conflicts.
