China Provides Emergency Cash in Support of Jaffar Express Victims

Islamabad (TDI): China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, handed over emergency cash assistance from the Red Cross Society of China to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, for the support of the victims of the train hijacking incident that happened in Balochistan on March 11.

The ceremony was attended by Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, Amna Baloch, Chairperson of Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Farzhana Naek, and Minister-Counselor Xu Hangtian from the Chinese Embassy.
In his address, Jiang Zaidong said that China resolutely opposes all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns the train hijacking incident in Balochistan.
He  extended deepest condolences to the families of the deceased while expressing sympathies on behalf of China. The envoy also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Amna Baloch and Farzana Naek expressed their heartfelt gratitude for China’s timely assistance.
They said that Pakistan is deeply moved by China’s steadfast support during this critical time, and that it reflects positively on the ironclad brotherly friendship between the two countries.
They pledged to immediately allocate this emergency cash fund to those who need it the most right now.
Both ensured that the fund will be disbursed in the most effective way.

Moreover, China’s Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Jaffar Express attack in the strongest terms.
China has been a consistent supporter of Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and has, from time to time, offered material support to facilitate the fight.
China’s strategic interests in Pakistan, especially its projects under the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor, have also come under attack in the past.
