Beijing (TDI): Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang met with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in Beijing on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
Ding said China wants to work with Iran to deliver on the common understandings between the two heads of state, enhance high-level exchanges and consolidate political mutual trust.
He said that both countries should expand pragmatic collaboration, enhance coordination in regional and in global affairs, and advance the continuous progress of the China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership that benefits the peoples of both sides.
For his part, Araghchi said that Tehran attaches great significance to the comprehensive strategic ties with Beijing, and is ready to deepen mutually beneficial collaboration, enhance multilateral coordination and protect their common interests.
Moreover, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also held talks with Araghchi on Wednesday, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Beijing and Tehran have worked jointly in recent years, backed each other and enhanced political mutual trust by supporting each other, Wang said.
Both countries have advanced their relations via pragmatic collaboration and united in the struggle against unilateral bullying, he stated.
Wang added that the strategic importance of China-Iran ties has become even more prominent.

Araghchi stressed that Tehran attaches great significance to developing its ties with Beijing, adheres to the One China principle, and supports China in protecting its core interests.
The foundation of the bilateral ties is solid and will not be influenced by other factors. In the face of Washington’s tariffs and bullying, Tehran will steadily support Beijing, jointly fight against unilateralism and hegemony, and safeguard multilateralism, he added.
