Lyon (TDI): Chinese State Councilor and Public Security Minister Wang Xiaohong met with International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) President Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi in Lyon, with both sides committing to enhancing collaboration in law enforcement.
During the meeting, Wang affirmed China’s support for Interpol’s leadership within the multilateral law-enforcement framework and expressed Beijing’s readiness to deepen cooperation in key areas such as countering telecom and network fraud, cross-border gambling, terrorism, and fugitive repatriation.
He also emphasized strengthening efforts in asset recovery and law-enforcement training.

Highlighting the importance of a strategic partnership, Wang said, “Both sides should work towards forging a pragmatic, guiding, and universally beneficial collaboration, contributing to the Global Security Initiative and enhancing global public security governance.”
China’s Support Appreciated
Interpol President Al-Raisi, expressing appreciation for China’s continued support, reiterated the organization’s commitment to the one-China principle.
He also underscored Interpol’s willingness to work closely with China in combating global security challenges and ensuring the success of the 94th Interpol General Assembly, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong in 2026.

Wang and Interpol Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza also signed agreements to strengthen cooperation.
While in France, Wang held talks with French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, further consolidating China-France cooperation in security and law enforcement.
