ISLAMABAD (TDI): China has imposed sanctions on nine United States (US) military-related companies in response to American arms sales to Taiwan aimed to press on the US to terminate the arms sales deal.
The measures include freezing the firms’ assets within China and prohibiting local entities from conducting transactions with them.

The US companies include Sierra Nevada Corporation, Stick Rudder Enterprises, Cubic Corporation, and several others.

In a statement, China’s foreign ministry said that the actions as countermeasures and reiterated its demand for the U.S. to cease its support for Taiwan, which Beijing considers part of its territory.
Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian urged the U.S. to stop “conniving and supporting Taiwan independence” and warned that such actions undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

This latest move follows previous sanctions by China against other companies, including units of Lockheed Martin, for similar involvement in arms sales to Taiwan.
