Bishkek, (TDI): The Chinese government has allocated grant assistance of 200 million yuan (over $28 million) to Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce announced.
The funds will be used to finance socially significant projects in key priority areas.
The grant agreement was signed on September 19 in Beijing, following a meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Chinese Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The Kyrgyz delegation, headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Bakyt Torobaev, attended the meeting.
Earlier, on September 18, Torobaev held meetings with the heads of Chinese companies.

During discussions with Zoomlion, a major Chinese agricultural machinery manufacturer, the two sides explored the supply of agricultural machinery to Kyrgyzstan and the potential establishment of a training center for assembling such equipment.
Kyrgyzstan’s Agricultural Exports to China
Torobaev also highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to expand agricultural exports to China, stating that a new warehouse near the Irkeshtam checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border was nearing completion.
This facility is expected to enhance the transportation of goods from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to China.

Additionally, during talks with Jiangnan Delivery (GZ) Food Supply Chain Co., Ltd, a Chinese agricultural products importer, both sides discussed cooperation in e-commerce and the potential establishment of a laboratory in Kyrgyzstan to facilitate the export of Kyrgyz agricultural goods to China.
According to Chinese statistics, bilateral trade between China and Kyrgyzstan reached $20 billion in 2023, marking a 32% increase compared to 2022.
From January to July this year, trade between the two nations amounted to nearly $11 billion.
