China denounces US allegations of genocide in Xinjiang

Beijing, 23 November 2021 (TDI): China has dismissed the allegations of the United States of genocide in Xinjiang.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian denounced the accusations of genocide in Xinjiang made by the United States. He tweeted to denounce the U.S. allegations over the Xinjiang region.

Zhao in his tweet stated that Xinjiang is part of the People’s Republic of China. Therefore, Xinjiang’s affairs are Chinese affairs. Hence, no country should interfere in Chinese affairs. China has sovereignty over its territory and it knows what to do when someone interferes in its affairs. China will not tolerate any interference in its affairs, he added.

Chinese Foreign Ministry further stated that nothing could be more absurd for China than the U.S. allegations over its autonomous region. He rejected the claims of genocide and forced labor made by the United States in Xinjiang.

US should not interfere in Chinese affairs

The Chinese official declared the U.S. allegations groundless. He emphasized that these types of accusations can hurt the image of China in the world. Hence, the U.S. should restrain in making such false propaganda in the world. It can damage the building of bilateral relations between the two states, he added.

Zhao pointed out that the United States is making such allegations on China to degrade it before the Beijing Olympics. Sports should not be politicized, he added. He urged the United States to not make such statements that can harm the interests of the athletes. Therefore, the U.S. should not hurt the Olympics spirit of the athletes.

He emphasized that the U.S. should show responsibility and avoid such acts which can harm its relations with China. China and the U.S. are the two leading states of the world. They have interests in cooperation instead of in confrontation.
