United Nations (TDI): China strongly opposes the weaponization of humanitarian aid, strongly condemns attacks on civilians, and calls for a thorough investigation and accountability, said Fu Cong, China’s Permanent Representative to the UN, during a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) open debate on the Palestinian-Israeli issue.
Speaking at Tuesday’s session, Fu described the ongoing suffering of Palestinians as a deep stain on global conscience.
“The plight of the Palestinian people shakes the very foundations of international fairness and morality,” he said, urging the world community to act decisively to end the crisis.
Ambassador Fu criticized a militarized approach to aid distribution, backed by the US and Israel, saying it undermines humanitarian principles and worsens the situation for civilians.

“According to the UN Secretary-General’s report, this mechanism violates the principles of impartiality, independence, and neutrality. It not only fails to ease the humanitarian crisis but endangers lives,” Fu stated.
He cited alarming figures, claiming Israeli forces had opened fire on civilians approaching aid points, resulting in over 500 deaths and 4,000 injuries.
“The pursuit of food in Gaza must not turn into a death sentence,” he said, reiterating China’s firm opposition to any effort to politicize or militarize humanitarian assistance.
Fu also called for an immediate, sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and criticized unilateral actions that violate international law.

He emphasized China’s support for a two-state solution, calling it the only viable path to lasting peace in the region.
“China will continue working with the international community to end the violence, ease the humanitarian crisis, and push for a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian question,” he said.
