Beijing (TDI): Commenting on the collision between an aircraft and a military helicopter at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the US, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday that China expresses deep grief and condolences over loss of lives.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry and China’s Embassy in the US launched the emergency response mechanism immediately after the tragic incident.
Unfortunately, two Chinese citizens have lost their lives during the crash, according to preliminary verification of the victims.
China has asked the United States to provide timely updates on the search and rescue efforts, identify the cause of the accident as soon as possible and handle the ensuing issues properly, the spokesperson added.

The Chinese side will provide necessary help to the families of the Chinese victims as they deal with the incident, the spokesperson said.
On Wednesday night local time, a US domestic regional airliner and a military helicopter collided mid-air near the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Both aircrafts crashed into the river, and no survivors have been found yet, according to media reports.
