Islamabad: June 21, 2021-(TDI): Addressing the meeting, the Chairman of China Overseas Ports Holding Company Mr.Zhang Baozhong, said that, the power plant will soon solve all the power problems of the port. This will further improve the overall power structure of Balochistan.
He also mentioned China and Pakistan are cooperating more on energy projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Mr. Shahzeb Khan Kakar, Director-General of Gwadar Development Authority said that the 300-megawatts of the coal-fired plant will be fully constructed and operational by October 2023.
He said that energy deficiency will be overcome in the region by the power plant. By the end of 2023, around 15,000 people of Gwadar will not be facing any electricity and water problem.
This power plant is one of the key energy projects on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
