Brasília, 4 September 2023 (TDI): A Chilean business mission visited Brazil on August 30, 2023. The mission’s visit to Brazil was assisted by the Chilean Consulate General and ProChile.
Arauco, Softys, Grupo Defensa, A&B Pacific Logistics, SONDA, Sky Airlines, and many more Chilean companies participated in the delegation.
The meeting between the Chilean business mission and Brazilian authorities was organized by the Society for Manufacturing Development (SOFOFA) as part of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the binational Business Council.
The President of the Chilean branch of the Chile-Brazil Business Council, Luis Felipe Gazitua, led the mission.
Ambassador Sebastian Depolo was also present among the business delegates. The mission engaged in trade discussions with the top leaders from the Brazilian National Confederation of Industries (CNI).
The CNI delegation was headed by its President Robson Braga de Andrade. A seminar was hosted with President Robert titled “Brazil and Chile: Economic Overview and Political.”
Additionally, a presentation was given by Brazilian entrepreneurs after the seminar, focused on “Technology and innovation: opportunities for Chilean companies in Brazil”.
Afterwards, the business delegation had a formal lunch at the Chilean Embassy in Brasilia.
The mission delegation in the afternoon had an audience with Brazil’s Vice President and Minister of Development, Geraldo Alckmin.
During their meeting, they discussed business and trade prospects between the two states, with particular focus on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and its future implementation.
Subsequently, on the next morning on August 31, the Chilean mission travelled to Sao Paulo. Delegates from the Federation of Industries of the state of Sao Paulo welcomed the mission.

Furthermore, they conducted meetings with executives, followed by a seminar titled “Financing and investment opportunities in Chile and Brazil”. More than a hundred Brazilian entrepreneurs attended the seminar.
Most importantly, in 2022 Brazil was Chile’s first trading partner within Latin America, with a total trade volume amounting to US$ 14,883 million.
Moreover, Chile’s exports reached US$ 4,539 million, while imports from Brazil accounted for US$ 10,344 million as per Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
