Pakistan (TDI): During a UNICEF-facilitated visit, the Swedish and Dutch Ambassadors visited the Sujawal District in Sindh.
UNICEF representative Abdullah A. Fadil showed the Ambassadors how UNICEF’s project “SUCCESS” is uplifting the community in the villages of the district, especially children.
Swedish Ambassador, Alex Berg von Linde, called this visit an “interesting” one where she saw the resilience of the local people, especially women and girls.
Interesting visit to rural Sindh with @UNICEF_Pakistan.
So impressed by the resilience of people, especially women & girls, that daily tackle challenges connected to lack of access to education, health, nutrition & water. Their voices need to be heard. @Sida @unicefsverige pic.twitter.com/S3M6yJiaaw

As key donors to UNICEF’s Scaling Up Convergence and Coverage of Essential Social Services (SUCCESS), Sweden and Ambassadors share the vision of social uplift, social security, access to healthcare, and education of children.
SUCCESS is UNICEF’s flagship project in Pakistan which has helped families access nutrition, healthcare, clean water, sanitation, education, and protection in the villages of Sujawal District.
The Ambassadors of Sweden and Netherlands interacted with people, visited the local education center, inspected the clean water mechanism, and learned how the locals are benefitting from the work of UNICEF.

In the surrounding villages in Sujawal, the number of out-of-school children is very high and 72% children suffer from stunting.
Access to healthcare and proper nutrition are a major challenge to the well being of children.
In addition to easing everyday life and making clean water and healthcare accessible, UNICEF is also supporting the communities in resisting issues like child marriages.
UNICEF thanked Sweden and Netherlands for the assistance they are providing in making these improvements for families and children in Sindh.
