Islamabad (TDI): Ahmed Lone, Chairman of the Gujranwala Business Center (GBC), was honored with the Prestigious Global Ambassador Award for leading the premier platform for promoting Pakistan’s industrial sector.
Gujranwala Business Centre (GBC), a key institution of industrial growth, trade diplomacy, and entrepreneurship in Pakistan, was established in 2010 under the Ministry of Industries and Production, in partnership with SMEDA and the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
GBC has created Pakistan’s largest permanent industrial display, the Made in Gujranwala Enclosure, and launched the country’s first international export display center in South Sudan, with two more underway in Uganda and Nigeria.
Showcasing products from 20 industrial sectors, these initiatives have opened new African trade corridors. Through delegations, forums, and export missions, Gujranwala Business Centre has facilitated agreements exceeding USD 20 million and hosted representatives from over 50 countries.

Gujranwala Business Centre has expanded global connectivity through trade desks in 25 countries, 15 international joint ventures, university partnerships, entrepreneurship programs, and women’s economic empowerment.
Under the leadership of Chairman Ahmad Lone, it continues to strengthen Pakistan’s industrial and economic footprint globally. GBC’s mission is to promote Gujranwala’s industrial sector nationally and internationally, while enabling export growth, trade promotion, and B2B linkages.
It serves as a local base of 21,000+ Small and Medium Enterprises and cottage industries, and weaves together a network of 1,500+ national and international partners; including government bodies,
chambers, trade bodies, academia, development agencies.

GBC also hosted ASEAN Business Forum, the largest international business forum in Gujranwala bringing together 24 diplomats from 10 ASEAN countries.
The center actively convenes global trade diplomacy, and has hosted delegations from 50+ countries while also leading trade missions from Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, South Sudan, and Uganda.
GBC is also a leader in industry–academia partnerships and incubation. Its partnerships with 15 universities has helped foster entrepreneurship among young students. It has also established the Development Board and Centre of Entrepreneurship at GIFT University.
The center is also spearheading Gujranwala’s first Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry; offering active programs and internships.
