Karachi, 17 August 2022 (TDI): The 7th Inter-Provincial Coordination Meeting on HIV/AIDs started in Karachi on 16 August, Tuesday. The Communicable Disease Control (CDC) Sindh hosted the two-day inter-provincial meeting that concluded today.

The meeting is arranged in coordination with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan as well as the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Pakistan.

The purpose of this coordination meeting was to enhance the response of Pakistan to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

Furthermore, the event focused on fostering discussion on the path towards effective involvement of the community in this struggle.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

United Nations Development Programme collaborates with Pakistan’s government as well as individuals to find unique responses to development issues.

It assists the efforts of Pakistan to establish a more egalitarian, productive, secure, and sustainable community.

Furthermore, it helps Pakistan to meet its SDGs and COP26 objectives, in a dynamic developing world scenario.

In addition, UNDP fosters transformative progress by forming smart alliances with national equivalents in the federal and provincial governments, civil society, the commercial sector, and the local and global communities.

UNDP promotes structural transformation by offering specialized expertise aimed at capacity building in national and local governments.

Along with devising alternatives with robust monitoring and tracking mechanisms, and implementing projects with optimum effectiveness, transparency, and accountability.

The main objective of UNDP is to enhance the lifestyles of Pakistanis by preventing poverty, promoting peace-loving, equitable, and egalitarian communities, preventing crises, increasing adaptability and promoting environment-friendly solutions for development.

UNDP collaborates with the Government of Pakistan and related departments. The Government has given its approval to all UNDP operations outlined in the Country Programme Action Plan.
