-

Vancouver, 1 September 2021 (TDI): Canada’s Minister of National Defense Harjit Sajjan spoke with America’s Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III on Wednesday.

Harjit Sajjan stated that Canada will continue to collaborate with American troops in order to relocate Afghans. Harjit Sajjan grieved and expressed his condolences for the deaths of US servicemen in the Kabul Airport bombing. Also, he praised Secretary Austin for making efforts in establishing strong cooperation between Canadian and American forces for evacuation activities in Afghanistan.

Following the exit of US forces from Afghanistan, the country fell into chaos and disarray. Under the control of the Taliban regime, the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul was bombed on 26 August 2021 in which 200 people were killed including 13 military officials of the US.
