Cambodia Supports World Tourism Day

Phnom Penh, 29 September 2021 (TDI): The Ministry of Tourism Cambodia and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) collaborated with each other to celebrate World Tourism Day.

The event was held on 27 September with the title “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”. The event was attended by Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, 350 officials from the Cambodian government, representatives from associations, Educational institutions, vocational training centres, and others related to tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism Cambodia and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) celebrates World Tourism Day.

At the event, while talking about the proposals of the Cambodian Prime Minister on tourism, Thong Khon showed his full support to bring the tourism of the country to the previous situation, as the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the tourism sector.

Prime Minister Hun Sen recommended immunization-driven and safe, product diversification, digitalized, advanced, developed in the human resource, and domestic travel industry of Cambodia.

The Minister encouraged the 2021 World Tourism Day by reiterated the words by Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General and Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UNWTO.
