Brussels (TDI): Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires, Faraz Zaidi, inaugurated a photo exhibition on Monday at the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels, Belgium, marking Kashmir Black Day and highlighting India’s human rights violations in the Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The week-long exhibition aims to raise awareness about the ongoing plight of the Kashmiri people, showcasing photographic evidence of the atrocities they face.
In his remarks at the inauguration, Zaidi lauded the resilience of the Kashmiri community, which continues its struggle for self-determination despite enduring decades of oppression.
He underscored the significance of October 27, the date marking the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian forces, which initiated a cycle of violence and repression.
India’s occupation has resulted in numerous human rights violations, subjecting the people of the occupied valley to immense hardships. Yet, their spirit remains unbroken in the face of injustice. The international community must intervene to halt the bloodshed and alleviate the suffering of these defenseless people,” Zaidi stated, as quoted in a press release.
He further highlighted the importance of such exhibitions in educating the global audience about the gravity of the situation in IIOJK. The exhibition provides visitors with a stark portrayal of the human rights abuses inflicted upon Kashmiris, shedding light on their decades-long ordeal.
