Islamabad (TDI): British High Commissioner Jane Marriott called on Minister for Defence, Defence Production and Aviation, Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Khwaja Asif said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its ties with Britain as Pak-UK relationship draws its strength from shared objectives for international peace and security.
Large number of Pakistani diaspora in Britain acts as an important bridge between the two nations, he added.
The Minister expressed optimism that continuous defence cooperation via established forums would yeild tangible progress in the sector of defence cooperation between two nations.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the current collaboration between two nations and stressed the need for further strengthening of relations.

The British High Commissioner also reiterated the importance of the relationship and acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic role in the region.

She expressed her government’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan to enhance cooperation.
