British Government appoints trade envoys to 10 countries

London, 23 August 2021 (TDI): The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson has appointed trade envoys to ten countriesincluding Australia, Canada, Pakistan, etc. These trade envoys will use their experiences and knowledge to help promote UK trade in their respective countries and find new business opportunities for export and investment. This appointment of trade envoys will boost up the bilateral ties in the field of trade between the UK and other trading nations.

Mark Eastwood has been appointed as the Trade Envoy to Pakistan. He took to his Twitter account and shared that “I am happy to be given this position and looking forward to working with the whole team at the Department of International Trade to enhance mutual trade opportunities and bring more jobs and different constituencies.” He is also a member of the British parliament and a member of the British Conservative party.

Christian Turner, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan also congratulated Mark Eastwood as trade envoy. He said that “We are looking forward to working together to boost trade, create job opportunities for Pakistan and the United Kingdom, and realize the economic potential from regional stability at this critical time.”
