Both high officials praised their long-term relations and asserted that their cooperation is crucial for stability in Afghanistan and the region. Secretary Raab underscored the importance of the long-term approach for dealing with the crisis that prevails in Afghanistan. They agreed to work closely to safeguard the region and ensure that Afghanistan would not become a safe haven for terrorist groups.
