British Commonwealth Minister meets Uzbek Ministers

Tashkent, 15 September 2021 (TDI):  British Minister of State for Foreign Commonwealth and Development Affairs, and Minister for Human Rights, Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon. He has also met with Odilbek Isakov, Deputy Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan and Uzbek Minister of Justice, Ruslanbek Davletov.
In a meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, The British Minister discussed the economic plans that Uzbekistan has for its future. Uzbek Deputy Finance Minister laid out ambitious economic targets for years to come. They discussed economic reforms where Britain can cooperate with Uzbekistan.
Both leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen bilateral economic relations and effective governance to support the Uzbek economic reform process.
With the Minister of Justice, the British Minister discussed areas that need reforms and the need to further strengthen bilateral relations. The leaders also discussed the situation in Afghanistan. Lord Tariq Ahmad is also the British Minister for Human Rights.
