RIYADH, (TDI): Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, recently received a phone call from Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
During the call, the two leaders reviewed the robust ties between Saudi Arabia and Brazil and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation across various sectors. They also addressed topics of mutual interest.
This dialogue follows a phone conversation last week between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and his Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira, during which they also explored opportunities to deepen bilateral ties.
Saudi Arabia and Brazil have seen significant developments in their relationship recently. While historically economic partners, the two nations are now working to expand trade and investment links further.
In November last year, the foreign ministers of both countries signed a memorandum of understanding in Rio de Janeiro to establish the Saudi-Brazilian Coordination Council, aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Additionally, the Deputy Speaker of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami, participated in the 10th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit held in Brasília, Brazil, from November 6 to 8.

On the cultural front, Saudi Deputy Minister of Culture for International Cultural Relations, Eng. Fahd Al-Kanaan, met Brazil’s Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, during the 5th G20 Culture Ministers’ Meeting last November.
During their meeting, Al-Kanaan expressed support for Brazil’s cultural priorities and praised Brazilian artists for their contributions to Saudi cultural events, underscoring the strong cultural ties between the two nations.
