Botswana Global Adaptation Week
At the Botswana Global Adaptation Week 2022, experts met to explore the most important steps to take in order to adapt to the growing consequences of climate change. This also included droughts and floods, increasing resilience to future consequences.
Furthermore, more than five hundred top experts from governments, non-governmental organizations, and the corporate sector attended the summit. It was held from 22nd to 26th and was one of the year’s main adaptation-related events.
Along these lines, one of the biggest adaptation events of the year, the Botswana Global Adaptation Week strives to highlight the advanced techniques for coping with the effects of climate change.
Therefore, speeding the creation and implementation of National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and resilience-focused forward-thinking provides a framework for increasing adaptation ambition.
Furthermore, the UNFCCC Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) held its 42nd meeting with the NAP Expo 2022 and the Resilience Frontiers initiatives. These both are intergovernmental projects that are managed by the UNFCCC secretariat.
Additionally, the keynote addresses and technical sessions at the NAP Expo revolved around the “Transformations to Adapt” topic for this year. Thus, over the course of five days, the Expo focused on 11 themes that address the idea of adjusting attitudes and routines in order to adjust to the changing climate.
