Colombo: July 7, 2021 –(TDI): The director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Sri Lanka presented the 1st copy of the Culture center’s first publication ‘The Pearl of the Silk Route’ to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The book is written by the director of the Chinese culture center Sri Lanka Mr. Liwen Yue and Mr. Chamara Ranmandala the Sri Lankan ambassador to China. The book is a review of the projects and progress that the China culture center in Sri Lanka made in the last 6 years since its creation in 2014.
The culture center was created in 2014 by President of China Xi Jinping and his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa. The Chinese cultural center in Sri Lanka is not only the first Chinese cultural center established in South Asia but also the first overseas Chinese cultural center launched by Chinese and foreign heads of state as part of the Maritime Silk Road’s strategic goal in the cultural sphere.
