Blinken talked with Iraqi President Barham Salih yesterday, reiterating the United States’ long-term commitment to a strong, stable, and prosperous Iraq. He expressed his belief that the American people benefit from a long-term, deep, multifaceted, and strategic engagement with Iraq. The Secretary underlined that the fight against ISIS is not ended, but is going into a new phase based on the Iraqi Security Force’s improved capabilities.
