New York, 22 September 2021 (TDI): The United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss on the margins of the 76th United Nations General Assembly this Monday, September 20th.
According to Ned Price, spokesperson of the United States Department of State, Blinken and Truss discussed the extraordinary developments in Afghanistan, ways to tackle the climate crisis, the Iran situation, a free and open Indo-Pacific, deepening the economic ties between the United States and the United Kingdom, and the UK’s G7 Presidency. Blinken and Truss shared ideas on ways to use the Initiative of Build Back a Better World to provide developing countries with reliable investment to meet their infrastructure needs.
Also, both parties welcomed the AUKUS partnership on security in the Indo-Pacific region and discussed the benefits of this alliance for both countries.
