Washington, 23 August 2021 (TDI): President Joe Biden released a statement in which he addresssed the concerns of American citizens, regarding the scrutiny of Afghans coming to US. He reaffirmed that the Afghans that are being brought to US, are scrutinised finely.
He conveyed that flights departing from Kabul do not travel straight to the United States; instead, they arrive at US military bases and transit centers throughout the world. At the landing locations, the US is performing extensive security screening for anyone who is not a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident, as everybody entering the nation would be subjected to a background check, he added. Once they have been inspected and approved, the United States will welcome these Afghans who have assisted them in the war over the span of the previous 20 years to their new home in the United States of America, because that is what America is, as he indicated.
