ISLAMABAD (TDI): US President Joe Biden asked Israel and Hezbollah to step back from the brink of all-out war, warning that such a conflict could have catastrophic consequences.
In his address before the United Nations he stressed that there remains an opportunity for both sides to de-escalate tensions.
He said that war will not benefit anyone. The solution of the crises is still possible.
In fact, it remains the only path to lasting security and to allow the residents of both countries to return to their homes, he said.
Biden Calls For De-escalation
Biden also underscored the urgent need for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, which has been elusive.
He noted that achieving this cease-fire is crucial not only for ending the violence in Gaza but also for easing hostilities between Israel and Lebanon.

Hezbollah has vowed to continue its rocket attacks on Israel until a cease-fire is reached in Gaza.
“Now is the time for the parties to finalize the terms of a cease-fire,” Biden stated. “Bring the hostages home, secure safety for Israel and Gaza, free from Hamas’s grip, ease the suffering in Gaza, and end this war.”
Tensions have escalated significantly, with ongoing exchanges of rocket fire between Israel and Hezbollah following Hamas’s attack on October 7.
