Islamabad (TDI): Belt and Road Consultants, Islamabad, in collaboration with the China-Mexico Cross-Border E-Commerce Association (CMCBEA), Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association (SZCBEA), and the Pakistan Consulate Office in Guangzhou, hosted the first-ever event bringing together businesses to venture e-commerce and digital trade opportunities between Pakistan and China.
The online event focused on unlocking the vast potential of China-Pakistan cross-border e-commerce, on 25th April 2025, under the banner China-Pakistan E-Commerce Gateway: Empowering Entrepreneurs, Students & Professionals.
The event brought together entrepreneurs, professionals, and students to explore the growing digital trade landscape and identify key opportunities for collaboration and growth.
The opening remarks were delivered by the Acting Consul General, Pakistan Consulate, Guangzhou, Muhammad Imran, followed by a welcome address by the Representative of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Dr. Yu Chengwen (Chandler), President of the China-Mexico Cross-Border E-commerce Association (CMCBEA) then took the floor and welcomed all participants on behalf of his association.
A keynote introduction of the launch event, its concept and goals, was delivered by the Chairperson of the Diplomatic Insight Group – the parent organization of Belt and Road Consultants, Dr. Farhat Asif.
She informed the participants of the agenda of the event and how Belt and Road Consultants seek to bridge the gap and connect aspiring businesses with trade bodies and diplomatic officials, to amp up cross-border trade.
This was followed by thematic and technical talks on Logistics and supply chain innovations, AI-driven e-commerce strategies, and Legal compliance in cross-border trade delivered by Dickio Xie, Jason, and Hoover Min respectively.
The speakers elaborated on what existing frameworks in tech and AI will benefit the e-commerce joint businesses between Pakistan and China.
This was followed by a panel discussion titled Unlocking Synergies in Pakistan-China Cross-Border E-Commerce, moderated by the Representative of Shenzhen Cross-Border E-commerce Association (SZCBEA).
Before the closing remarks, the organizers opened the floor for questions and answers. The speakers, the Acting Consul General, chairs of Belt and Road Consultants, and representatives of CMCBEA and SZCBEA addressed all queries related to forging business ties and all specific questions on technical aspects of digital trade.
In the end, Muhammad Imran, the Acting Consul General in Guangzhou, delivered the closing remarks and the Representative of China-Mexico Cross-border eCommerce Association said a note of thanks to all participants and organizers of the event.
