Belize City (TDI): Only forty-three years ago, on September 21, 1981, Belize, the only British colony in Central America, gained its independence.
Every year on this day, Belizeans get together to celebrate their independence, history, culture, and beautiful country with fellow citizens and with people all around the world.
Belize Independence Day is observed on September 21st to commemorate the nation’s adoption of its own constitution and its freedom from the British Empire.

Traditional cuisine, music, and dances are enjoyed during the celebrations, which highlight the holiday’s cultural characteristics.
Belizeans gather to commemorate the rich cultural legacy and lengthy history of their nation.
It is a day to celebrate our shared pride in our country, to come together as a nation, and to think back on our path to independence.

In addition to honor Belize’s independence, September 21 is a time to highlight the strong relationship that exists between Pakistan and Belize.
